Top 8 ways to gain Google’s trust

Optimizing your web content is not enough to be there on the first page of Google’s search result. If Google is the search engine for which you intend to have a high page ranking then perhaps you need a little more than optimization. The trust with Google can provide you that little more.

It is often seen that some websites, almost irrespective of what they publish, always get higher rankings than other websites. Even when the other websites optimize their content in a better way, their page ranking hardly improves. It is because of the trust level that a website has with Google.

Google will always avoid spam sites or something that looks like one. So it is important that you make Google’s search algorithm realize that your website is genuine and you plan to be in the business for a long period of time.

Some ways you can build up nice relationship with Google are mentioned below.

  1. The domain name you use for your website is important. The older the domain name, the more Google knows about it. So it is recommended that if you start a new company, buy a related domain which is already present and has a good trust level with Google. If not then buy the domain name with a renewal time period of 2 years, to show Google that the domain will be used for genuine business purpose.

  2. Do not always opt for top level domain name such as .com or .net; rather use domains that are well known in your country.

  3. Avoid using hyphens in your URL’s since they make the URL look spammy.

  4. Make sure that your cpmplete contact information is provided on your website and not just the email address. More the information about your company found, more likely that Google will consider your website genuine.

  5. Your website should also contain privacy policy and terms and condition. These should be linked from your sitemap.

  6. Do not use gateway pages since they drop the quality level of your website and consequentially the trust level with Google. The visitors are also annoyed by the gateway pages, since that is not where they intend to go.

  7. If possible try to limit the HTML code of your page below 100KB, since it will be easy for Google to crawl the page. Also keep updating the page so as to make it look dynamic and in a working condition.

  8. Avoid using automatic linking schemes, since it would look suspicious to Google if on a particular day you have 2000 inbound links. Do not use paid links; simply because Google does not like paid links and may penalize your page.

If you are successful in achieving good trust level with Google then it becomes easier to achieve better page ranking. This does not mean that your page no more needs optimization. Regular optimization is very necessary.
